Holts Landing State Park has an interesting history. A small Holts family stayed there doing farming and fishing, near the bay until 1957 when the State Govt. took the property and made it into an historical park. This 203 acre area has some beautiful landscapes from Bay Shore to the grassy fields and on to the hardwood forests. In 1965 this state park was transferred to the State Commission of Parks, making it Holts Landing State Park.
